Description of Acalypha Australis Linn (Tie Xian) :
Seasonal herbaceous, upright and hairy plant. Stem 30-50 cm tall, branched with coarse elongated lines. Growing up on the roadside, lawn, mountain slopes. Leaves located intermittent, oval to lancet shape, the tip and base of the taper-shaped leaf, serrated edge, 2.5 to 8 cm long, 1.5 to 3.5 cm wide. Flowers unisexual and monoecious, out of armpit leaves, small flowers in a panicle series. The fruit is small, the roots of these plants are preferred by Dogs and Cats.

Disease That Can Be Treated : dysentery and amoebic dysentery, diarrhea, malnutrition, nosebleeds, vomiting blood, urinary blood, malaria.
Utilization :
Parts of use: whole plant, use fresh or dry.

The usability:
1. bacillary dysentery and amoebic dysentery.

2. Diarrhea, children with low weight (malnutrition) and indigestion, dysentery.

3. Vomiting blood, nosebleeds, blood urine (hematuria), malaria.

For internal use :
9-15 grams of dried herbs or 30-60 grams of fresh herbs. Boiled then drink.

For external Use :
Fresh herbs crushed, affixed to the affected part.
if boiled, the water for washing the affected part.
Used for boils, ulceration, oozing sores, eczema, dermatitis and Snake bites.

Utilization for medication:
1. Dermatitis, Eczema, ulceration.
Get Herbaceous sufficiently then boil.
The water for washing in affected part.

2. external wounds.
Fresh herbs plus sugar to taste. Crushed and then placed on the affected part.

3. Dysentery Amoeba.
30-60 grams of dry plants (whole stems) to boil in 3 glasses of water till remaining of 2 glasses. The water is divide in two part, drinks 2 times a day, for 5-10 days.

4. Diarrhea, vomiting blood, nosebleed, Dysentery, Cough.
30-60 grams of dry herbs to boil with 3 glasses of water till remaining 1 glass, then drink 3 times a day before mealtime, 1 glass each.

5. bacillary dysentery.
30-60 grams of Acalypha australis , Portulaca oleracea (purslane) add sugar, 30 grams each, boil then drink.

Chemical properties and pharmacological effects:
Bitter taste, astrigen, cool. Anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, laxative urine, astrijen stop bleeding (hemostatic).
